Hei!

Mvh,
Camilla Holm Soelseth.

You don't often get email from s2104796 at student.hb.se<mailto:s2104796 at student.hb.se>. Learn why this is important<https://aka.ms/LearnAboutSenderIdentification>

You are invited to participate in a questionnaire for a research study conducted by students attending the Master's programme in Library and Information Science, Digital Library and Information Services<https://www.hb.se/en/student/my-studies/course-and-programme-portal/programme-portal/admitted-autumn-2021/masters-programme-library-and-information-science-digital-library-and-information-services2/> at the Swedish School of Library and Information Science<https://www.hb.se/en/the-swedish-school-of-library-and-information-science-sslis/>, University of Borås in Sweden.

The aim of this study is to gain a greater understanding of the ethical issues in digitisation processes that are experienced by professionals working in memory institutions. By digitisation, we mean the process of converting analog materials into a digital format. The questionnaire is directed to digitisation professionals working in libraries, archives and museums in Northern Europe and North America, with general and specialised collections of cultural heritage. While ethical issues in digitisation do not necessarily differ due to geography, the experiences of the professionals working in digitisation may be different. By looking at memory institutions together, we will be able to compare the similarities and differences between them.

If you decide to participate, we would like for you to complete the digital questionnaire linked below. Participation in the questionnaire is performed via Sunet survey and will not collect any identifiable personal information, such as IP address or name, and no one will be able to connect your responses to you.

The questionnaire will be open until September 18th and can be reached via this link:

https://sunet.artologik.net/hb/Survey/4920

It consists of five different sections with 1-12 questions each (a total of 28 questions) and will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Only the questions in the first section, Background, are mandatory, but we would appreciate answers to all questions that are applicable to you. We ask that each response to the questionnaire be completed by one and the same individual.

High participation rate is decisive to achieve reliable and usable results. We therefore thank you for your valuable time and hope that you will be willing to partake.

If you have any questions about the study contact Jessica: s2109211 at student.hb.se<mailto:s2109211 at student.hb.se> or Elisabeth: s2104796 at student.hb.se<mailto:s2104796 at student.hb.se>. If you are open to us sending you additional questions regarding this study, we encourage you to send us an email. The study will be published open access at https://hb.diva-portal.org/ in due course.

Kind Regards,

Jessica Renée Pettit & Elisabeth Kjønsø Nonstad
