Verksemd innbyggartorg: Ålesund kommune er vidstrekt og innbyggjartorg tar i vare bindeleddet mellom lokalmiljøa og den store kommunen. Vi arbeider tett på innbyggjarane og det frivillige gjennom fem innbyggartorg og 11 bibliotek. Vi legg vinn på samarbeid
på tvers. Verksemda består av bibliotek, frivillegsentral og innbyggarservice og har ei stor kontaktflate som vi tar vare på i kommunen sitt arbeid med å utvikle medborgarskap som ressurs.Bibliotek: Ålesund bibliotek består av hovudbibliotek, 10 avdelingsbibliotek,
derav 5 kombinasjonsbibliotek, og fengselsbibliotek. Ålesund kommune er inne i eit spennande arbeid med å etablere seg som ny storkommune. Biblioteket har ei etterspurt rolle i mykje av utviklingsarbeidet. Vi ser etter ein utviklingsorientert lagspelar
