Digital Humanities in Norway: Looking back, and taking a big(?) step forward!

Vi har den glede av å invitere til en dagskonferanse med en kombinert agenda; feiring av DH Oslo 10 år og opprettelse av et nasjonalt forskernettverk for digital humaniora og kulturoganisasjon (DHKO). Konferansen avsluttes med en keynote av Sally Chambers, Digital Humanities Research Coordinator ved Ghent Centre for Digital Humanities.

Det vil også være mulighet for deltagelse via zoom for de som ikke kan delta fysisk.

Konferansen vil hovedsakelig foregå på engelsk, slik at det blir mulig for flest mulig å delta.

Konferansen er særlig rettet mot forskere i akademia, og ansatte og forskere ved kultur- og informasjonsinstitusjoner i Norge (f. eks. arkiv, bibliotek, og museer) som jobber med dette i praksis. Masterstudenter med interesse for tema er også meget velkomne til å delta.



CFPresentations

Denne dagen setter søkelyset på alt det viktige og bra arbeidet som gjøres i Norge innenfor digital humaniora. Med digital humaniora mener vi både humanistiske perspektiver på det digitale (herunder teknologi og materiale), og bruk av software, programmering, og digitale metoder for analyse og tolkning i humanistisk orientert forskning.

Ved å inkludere begrepet «kulturorganisasjon», ønsker vi å sette fokus på alle prosesser som inngår i organiseringen av kultur. Disse er tilblivelse, formidling, forvaltning, organisering, tilgjengeliggjøring, gjenfinning, synliggjøring, kuratering, bruk, analyse og tolkning av kulturressurser og estetiske praksiser. disse prosessene er kjernefokuset i digital humaniora, men er ikke minst også essensiell praksis for kulturinstitusjoner. Dette nettverket blir da et grensesnitt og en begynnende infrastruktur mellom digital humaniora og kulturinstitusjonenes kulturorganisering.

Med utgangspunkt i denne introen til temaet, ønsker vi oss presentasjoner fra hele Norge som på en eller annen måte befinner seg i dette feltet eller kjenner seg igjen i introduksjonen. Presentasjonene må være på max 10 minutter, etterfulgt av spørsmål. Påmelding sendes inn innen mandag 25. september via nettskjema: https://uio.pameldingssystem.no/dhko-seminar-1

We have the pleasure of inviting you to a one-day conference combining the celebration of DH Oslo 10 years and the establishment of the new national network for digital humanities and culture organization (DHKO). The conference will be held in Oslo and concludes with a keynote from Sally Chambers, Digital Humanities Research Coordinator at Ghent Centre for Digital Humanities.

It will be possible to join via Zoom for those who cannot participate on-site.

The event will be held in English unless otherwise specified.

The Conference is directed at researchers and academics, but also people who work with this in culture organizations (i.e. archives, libraries, museums). We also welcome master students with a special interest in this theme to register.


CFPresentations

This conference wishes to highlight all the essential and good work done in Norway in the field of digital humanities. With digital humanities, we mean both the application of perspectives from the humanities concerning the digital (including technology and materials), and also the use of software, programming, and digital methods for analysis and interpretation in research in the humanities.

By coining and using the term “culture organization”, we wish to highlight the creation, dissemination, management, organization, retrieval, curation, use, analysis and interpretation of cultural resources and aesthetic practices. This is, in many ways, the core of digital humanities and is also an essential part of the work that cultural institutions do every day. Therefore, this network aims to become an interface and a budding infrastructure for digital humanities and culture organization.

With this intro to the conference's theme, we are calling for presentations from all over Norway who find themselves in this field or match this description. Presentations are limited to 10 minutes, followed by questions. Abstracts should be between 200-300 words. Submit your abstract following this link: https://uio.pameldingssystem.no/dhko-seminar-1
