Meet our speakers

In line with our President, Christine Mackenzie's theme - let's work together – at this WLIC you'll have the chance to hear about opportunities to build partnerships with stakeholders beyond our field.

We're thrilled to say that David Fricker, Alberto Garlandini and Teresa Patricio, the presidents of each of the International Council on Archives, the International Council on Museums, and the International Council on Monuments and Sites respectively, will all be with us to talk about how we can learn from, and work with each other to promote the role of culture in the recovery from COVID-19.

Asia and Oceania Session Profile

Libraries throughout the world are undertaking a wide variety of activities that impact society and assist in the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In its session, IFLA's Section for Asia and Oceania will invite expert speakers to provide their insights on high-impact initiatives implemented by libraries in their region.

Among others, we will hear from His Excellency Ambassador Prasad, Permanent Representative of Fiji to the United Nations, who will launch this session discussing why libraries and community resource centres are so critical to tacking the climate emergency.
